Purpose:

CANIGRAPH is a social media and streaming service. The name means: Creative, Animals, Network,Intentionally,Gamifying,Really,Authentic,Pet, Heroes. The word CANIGRAPH is a combination of the prefix [cani] derived from the word canine for dog and the word [graph] – a visual tool that connects and shows relationships.

The purpose of our platform is to amplify animal affection by connecting pet people through emotive experiences and entertainment. Since some social media and streaming spaces feature tasteless, baseless and abrasive content, we want to do something different and build an exclusive community of pet enthusiasts that celebrate pets every chance they get! We are the niche that scratches pet people’s itch!

Founders Story:

The moniker Dudley Doodle, is a combination of part of my middle name and my favorite dog breed Doodles, even though technically they aren’t a breed but whatever. Born in Washington DC but raised in Hyattsville MD in a West African household, filled with culture, color and cassava. 

With five of us in a two bedroom apartment in Fleetwood Village we didn’t have space for a pet, so having one never really came up.

Fast forward to when I met my wife J Rachelle who was and is an avid pet lover! From guinea pigs, ferrets, cats, snakes and multiple dogs – her family had it all! When I met her she had a 6 pound Yorki-Poo named Emily and it was clear that it was a package deal lol. Initially, I wasn’t thrilled to have dog but Emily quickly won me over. We no longer give our dogs human names btw.

The concept of CANIGRAPH came about at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. By this time we got another dog Basil a 75 pound Goldendoodle and Labradoodle mix since Emily was getting old and having some health problems. I was working in the cloud technology sector and my wife started making and selling clay crafts since she’s the artsy type. Shortly afterwards we decided to get another dog, Cookie a Poodle and Pointer mix. Creativity, technology and our love for dogs was the catalyst to building a prototype website initially as a way to put an actual build project on my resume. We’ve been iterating on the platform ever since. 

A big break through came when I started brainstorming with my baby brother Rallo a comedian, Howard university alum and the funniest 30 something in DC and NYC! I needed to pick his brain because I wasn’t on social media at all and did’nt particulary see it’s usefullness outside of using LinkedIn for professional puposes. He recommended that I partner with someone who really does animal voiceovers to see if they rock with the concept. He introduced me to Dulo a talented actor, musician and enteratiner – who’s work I had seen and admired. Since Dulu has been a trusted advisor and creative confidante.
